A Used Kia, Backed Like New.
Certified Pre-Owned is the closest thing to buying new without the new-car price. Every Kia CPO vehicle is inspected point by point, history-checked, and backed by manufacturer warranty coverage that follows you down the road — and to the next owner.
Not Just Used. Kia Certified.
Any dealer can sell you a used car. Only an authorized Kia dealer can sell you a Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicle — because certification is a factory program with standards Kia sets and verifies. Every CPO Kia earns the badge the same way: a rigorous inspection, a clean history review, and factory-backed coverage layered on top.
Inspected, Not Assumed
Kia-certified technicians work through a 164-point checklist on every candidate. Anything that doesn’t meet Kia’s standard is repaired or replaced with a manufacturer-authorized part before the vehicle can wear the Certified badge.
New-Car Confidence, Pre-Owned Value
You get factory warranty coverage, a documented history, and 24/7 roadside support — the peace of mind of a new Kia, at a pre-owned price. It’s the smart middle ground between buying new and rolling the dice on an as-is used car.
Protection That Follows You Home.
Certification layers two warranties plus roadside support and a documented history on top of your Kia. Here’s exactly what’s included.
10-Yr / 100k-Mi Powertrain
A limited powertrain warranty measured from the vehicle’s original in-service date and zero miles — covering the engine, transmission and drive components for the long haul.1
1-Yr / 12k-Mi Platinum
Comprehensive Platinum Coverage begins on your CPO purchase date and reaches beyond the powertrain to more of the components that keep you moving.2
24/7 Roadside
Jump-starts, flat-tire help, lockout and fuel assistance any hour — plus towing, travel-breakdown and rental-car reimbursement for covered repairs.3
Carfax History
A Carfax Vehicle History Report comes with every CPO Kia, so you see the ownership and service story before you sign — no guesswork.
Checked From Bumper to Bumper.
Before a Kia can be certified, our factory-trained technicians work through every major system. If something doesn’t measure up, it’s made right with a manufacturer-authorized part — not waved through.

Certified Pre-Owned Questions
What is a Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicle?⌄
A Kia Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle is a late-model Kia that meets Kia America’s age and mileage requirements, passes a 164-point quality-assurance inspection by Kia-certified technicians, includes a Carfax vehicle history report, and carries manufacturer-backed warranty coverage. Only an authorized Kia dealer — like Dean McCrary Kia — can sell a vehicle as Kia Certified.
How is a Kia CPO vehicle different from a regular used car?⌄
A regular used car may be sold as-is with no standardized inspection or manufacturer warranty. A Kia CPO vehicle must pass Kia’s 164-point inspection, comes with a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and 1-year/12,000-mile Platinum Coverage, includes a Carfax report and 24/7 roadside assistance, and is repaired only with manufacturer-authorized parts before it can be certified.
What warranty comes with a Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicle?⌄
Two coverages. A 10-year/100,000-mile CPO Limited Powertrain Warranty measured from the vehicle’s original in-service date and zero miles, plus a 1-year/12,000-mile comprehensive Platinum Coverage measured from the CPO purchase date and the mileage at purchase. Both are limited warranties; see the CPO contract or your Kia Brand Specialist for exact coverages, exclusions and limitations.1,2
What does the 164-point inspection cover?⌄
Kia-certified technicians inspect the major systems — engine and transmission, brakes and suspension, steering, electrical and battery, heating and air conditioning, safety systems, tires, and the interior and exterior. Any item that doesn’t meet Kia standards is repaired or replaced with a manufacturer-authorized part before the vehicle can be certified.
What vehicles are eligible to become Kia Certified?⌄
To qualify, a vehicle generally must be within the current model year plus the previous six model years, have fewer than 80,000 miles, pass the 164-point inspection, and clear a Carfax vehicle history review. Eligibility standards are set by Kia and verified through inspection and history records tied to the VIN.
Is the CPO warranty transferable if I sell the vehicle?⌄
Yes. Kia CPO coverage is transferable to a subsequent private owner for a one-time transfer fee, which can add to your Kia’s resale value. See the CPO contract or your Kia Brand Specialist for the current fee and transfer process.3
Does a Kia CPO vehicle include roadside assistance?⌄
Yes. Kia CPO includes 24/7 roadside assistance with services such as jump-starts, flat-tire help, lockout and fuel assistance, plus towing, travel-breakdown and rental-car reimbursement for covered repairs. Reimbursement amounts are subject to per-day and per-occurrence limits defined in the CPO contract.3
Can I finance a Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicle?⌄
Yes. CPO vehicles can be financed through Kia Finance America or other lending partners, subject to credit approval. You can get pre-approved online first with no impact to your credit score, then finalize terms with us at the dealership.

1The Kia CPO 10-year/100,000-mile limited warranty program begins on the vehicle’s original in-service date and odometer mile “0.” The limited warranty program includes the remainder of applicable roadside assistance, powertrain coverage and the New Vehicle Limited Warranty (Basic). See retailer/CPO contract for details.
2Platinum Coverage begins on the vehicle purchase date and the odometer reading on the purchase date. Platinum Coverage is limited; for exact coverages, exclusions and limitations, review the CPO contract or see retailer for details.
3Roadside assistance, towing, travel-breakdown and rental-car reimbursement are subject to per-day and per-occurrence limits and other terms defined in the CPO contract. CPO coverage is transferable to a subsequent private owner for a one-time fee. Financing is subject to credit approval through Kia Finance America or other lenders; not all buyers qualify. Program terms are set by Kia America and subject to change — see dealer for current details.
