Production Ends After 16 Years Final Model Year
Kia ended US Soul production in October 2025 after roughly 1.5 million units sold, as the brand pivots toward crossovers and EVs. Every Soul on the road — any model year — still qualifies for full factory-scheduled service at Dean McCrary Kia.
2023 — Refresh, Turbo Dropped
1.6T and X-Line Removed Engine Change
The mid-cycle facelift dropped the 1.6L turbo-GDI and the X-Line trim, leaving the 2.0L MPI and CVT across every trim for the rest of the run.
2020 — New Generation
3rd-Gen Soul Launches With Two Engine Choices New Gen
The 3rd-generation Soul launched with a 147-hp 2.0L MPI and, on GT-Line/Turbo trims through MY2022, a 201-hp 1.6L turbo-GDI. Routine oil and rotation lands every 7,500 miles or 12 months; cabin air filter first at 15,000 miles then every 30,000; engine air filter every 30,000 miles or 24 months; spark plugs come due at 96,000 miles on the 2.0L or 42,000 miles on the 1.6T; brake fluid replaces every 48,000 miles or 48 months (2020 models used a 24-month figure); first coolant change at 120,000 miles.
